The second TNT Split conference will be held on April 29 and 30 at the Radisson Blu Resort.

On Wednesday, the program of the second conference “TNT Split 2019 – Tourism and Technology” conference was presented by Split-Dalmatia County, reports Splitski Dnevnik on April 25, 2019.

In addition to Split-Dalmatia County prefect Blaženko Boban, the program was presented by Damir Brčić, project manager of ICT SDŽ, Stipe Čogelj, head of UO for Maritime and Tourism and Mario Ćubelić, conference organizer and owner of the Cezar.hr start-up company.

“I am proud of the work of my closest associates in the field of IT development, in which the Split-Dalmatia County hopes to be number one in Croatia. I thank them all, as well as the staff from the Department of Tourism and Maritime Affairs, and the young but already proven collaborator in this area, Marijo Ćubelić. In addition to the 15 projects of the county and county RERA agency which were applied for EU funds, the county in this way encourages the development of other economic sectors apart from tourism, to become an attractive destination for modern Internet nomads,” said prefect Boban.

Project Manager of  ICT SDŽ, Damir Brčić, said that this county conference would like to invite all local companies to come and meet the needs of modern tourists and develop solutions for tourists, which will undoubtedly generate new jobs, both in the tourism and IT sector.

The head of the UO for Maritime Affairs and Tourism Stipe Čogelj said that two “sacred goals” in the development of the county are joining tourism and modern Internet technologies, i.e., the development of the IT sector as the industry of the 21st century, and relieving the coast and coastal areas by attracting tourists to rural areas, the tourism experience in Inland Dalmatia and the outskirts of the county.

“That is why at this conference I will lead a panel from the County about storytelling so that our entrepreneurs in tourism will create opportunities to attract tourists beyond their current, regular destinations,” said Čogelj.

Mario Čubelić, owner of the Cezar.hr start-up and one of the organizers of the conference thanked the prefect and his associates for the long and excellent cooperation, and said: “Although this is just another conference of this kind, we can now say that this is the largest and most successful conference in Dalmatia that gives insight into the possibility of developing new forms of tourism in synergy with modern Internet technologies. Expedia and Booking.com are just some of the companies that will show examples of their practice to exploit the potential of new technologies best. The conference was launched with the intent to contribute to the greater efficiency of the tourism sector, to familiarize tourism workers with the latest technologies and trends, and to point their businesses upward. Our goal must be to develop and improve business in tourism – the technology is there, it exists, and it is up to us to make the most of it,” said Ćubelić, who presented the full two-day conference, which will take place on April 29 and 30 at the Radisson Blu hotel in Split.

TNT Split 2109 will bring together leading tourism and IT professionals from around the world who will present trends and research results and the latest technology in tourism, including digital marketing trends in the function of tourism of the future. The conference is intended for IT companies, hoteliers, travel agencies, online travel agencies, start-up companies, financial institutions as well as marketers and private renters. The discussions will be about the development of cyber-tourism, new technologies storytelling, artificial intelligence, destination marketing, communication strategies in tourism, and more.
