The rich Advent program “Winter Adventura in Trogir” was presented yesterday in the City of Trogir.
The old city center of Trogir is already decorated with candles and other festive ornaments to prepare for next week when Trogir will transform into a winter wonderland with Christmas events lasting from December 8, 2017, to January 6, 2018, reports Dalmacija Danas on November 30, 2017.
With four gastro-houses set up in the town square, the commemorative program will continue from the morning to the late evening hours.
With great pleasure “Winter Adventura” was presented by Mayor of Trogir Ante Bilić.
A full city out of season
“This can be called the first real Advent in Trogir, in which we have invested a great deal of effort and time. We do not see this event as a special luxury, but as the necessary content we must provide to our fellow citizens in the city center at Christmas time. The great response to Neno Belan’s end of the season concert in Trogir a few weeks ago on the occasion of the City Day was packed with people out of season, and I believe that the Advent program will attract and satisfy all tastes and generations,” said Mayor Bilić and added:
“Our goal is to make the ‘Winter Adventura’ a beautiful tradition of Trogir, and in the coming years, we will be even more ambitious in our planning. We want our city to be recognized as a destination where you will be able to find the right Christmas atmosphere in December, in not just all of Dalmatia but even further,” added the mayor who noted that parking would be free for everyone during the entire event.
“We worked on the planning for months and we did not leave anything out. During the 30 days of Advent, there will be 20 concerts. Among the brightest performers are the group Detour (December 22nd), Sandi (December 28th), Luka Nižetić (December 15th), Klapa Ikon and Marko Pecotić (December 10th). There will be plenty of bands, both domestic and foreign, and when there isn’t a concert a DJ will be in charge of a good atmosphere so that our town will become an outdoor discotheque,” said Trogir’s deputy mayor Viktor Novak. Novak stressed that children would be particularly pleased with many workshops, performances, Santa Claus postal offices in the City Lodge, face painting, and more.
On the final day of 2017 (New Years), two events will be organized in the city square. In the afternoon, the people of Trogir will enjoy the tamburitza band “Dukati” and that evening, DJs will take the stage. During the event, there will be a raffle, humanitarian action, concerts of traditional and classical music, and a lunapark will be located at the T1 parking lot, known as “big parking lot”.
