Wild Boar Makes the Journey from Brač to Split (Video)

An unusual sight for the Adriatic Sea on a Saturday afternoon.

A lucky bunch of boaters spotted something unusual in the sea yesterday afternoon, and what they thought at first was a dolphin, turned out to be a wild boar! Dalmacija Danas reports the details on July 2, 2017.

The wild boar, which was spotted swimming from the island of Brač in the direction of Split, seemed to be making quite the trek – but boars are actually known to be excellent swimmers!

Wild boars can swim up to 12 hours straight, and it is not uncommon for fishers to spot them at sea. The pigs swim in search of new habitats where they will have enough food for themselves, often forcing them to make journeys just like this one.

If the boar made it to his destination, we are not sure, but the video is one we know you’ll enjoy on your Sunday.
