Ever been to Zagreb? A single sightseeing tour of the city centre is enough to make one admire all the iconic landmarks: the Croatian National Theatre, the stunning cathedral, St Mark’s church…
The Croatian capital certainly made an impression on Hugo Yoshikawa, a Japanese illustrator who has been working on a pretty cool project for some time now. He set out to create an illustrated alphabet inspired by European capital cities, coming up with intricate designs of their initial letters composed of all major landmarks the featured cities are known for.
As expected, Z is for Zagreb – after you’re done admiring the endearing illustration, how about a quick game? How many items do you recognise in the image below? Can you name ten landmarks you’ve seen in Zagreb? Give it a try:
Here are some of the other capitals featured in the City ABC:
London
Oslo
Paris
You can see the rest of the City ABC on Yoshikawa’s website.
