Ever been to Zagreb? A single sightseeing tour of the city centre is enough to make one admire all the iconic landmarks: the Croatian National Theatre, the stunning cathedral, St Mark’s church…

The Croatian capital certainly made an impression on Hugo Yoshikawa, a Japanese illustrator who has been working on a pretty cool project for some time now. He set out to create an illustrated alphabet inspired by European capital cities, coming up with intricate designs of their initial letters composed of all major landmarks the featured cities are known for.
