A perfect gourmet theatre combination in the Croatian capital.

Zagreb will soon get one more original cultural treat, the “Zagreb à la Carte” musical and theatrical project directed by Paolo Tišljarić, which will premiere on Sunday, 20 December, at the Frankopan Restaurant in Zagreb and will combine a theatre performance with an exclusive dinner, reports Novi List on December 18, 2015.

The announcement of the project states that we can expect an interesting and unprecedented experience which is part of a project produced by the Academy of Dramatic Art of the University of Zagreb and TheArte Artistic Organization, produced by Ana Sikavica, for whom this will also be the final exam at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. “The Zagreb à la Carte project returns us to Zagreb as it existed during the previous century, while the evening program combines what is seemingly incompatible – a dinner and a theatrical show about the history of Zagreb”, the organizers say.

During the dinner, guests will be invited by travelogues written by Antun Gustav Matoš to visit the places like Grič, while the poems of Tin Ujević will awaken their desire to stop at each tree and fountain in the city and admire their beauty just like he does in his poems. “With legendary songs like ‘Tiho Plove Moje Čežnje’ by Ivo Robić and ‘Stari Kandelaber’ by Viki Glovacki, we will open the dance floor, while the repertoire will include many other beautiful love stories, written by August Šenoa and Slavo Ištvančić”, the organizers say.

All this will be “only a small part of the story which will be told by talented actors” Ana Marija Žužul, Ivan Čuić and Tihana Lazović. Tickets which cost 260 kuna include the theatre performance and gala dinner in four courses, inspired by traditional specialties of the city of Zagreb. The project which merges dinner experience and magical stories about Zagreb and the beauties of its charm has been supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board.
