Koceić Bilan said that the move to a new facility was a historic event, which will certainly facilitate future development of mathematics in Split. He thanked everyone who made the new building possible.

“Administration of the University will continue to invest in facilities to improve the quality of your studies, for example, we have plans to modernize the campus restaurant. With you, this building has been given a new life”, Rector Anđelinović said. He urged students to engage in projects which the University administration has been preparing for them, such as the project of post-university employment possibilities for students, but also to apply for the Erasmus student exchange program. “Think about your future, career and jobs you would like to have. I wish you every success in your studies, and we will help you achieve your dreams”, Rector Anđelinović said to future mathematicians.

In addition to the Faculty of Science, Chemical Technology Faculty and Maritime Faculty, the Building of Three Faculties will temporarily accommodate three additional departments (Health Studies, Forensic Sciences and Sea Studies), which will remain in the building until another location is found for them. As part of functional integration of the university, the scientific equipment will be used by other university components as well, which will be able to hold some of their classes in the new building, according to the curriculum which will be prepared on an annual basis by the Senate of the University of Split.

The new building has an area of 30,000 square metres, and the project was worth about 280 million kuna. Inside the building, there are 85 laboratories, 240 offices and 6 classrooms, and it is planned that around 4,000 students will use the building every day.
