In it’ second edition this year, from July 1-3, Opuzen will become the focal point for art and artistic activities in an effort to revitalize the city.
Zen Opuzen is this year’s theme, displaying life in outer space and taking place on the coast of the Neretva River, with the old bridge taking form as the rocket launch center to mars.
Over 3 days, the city will adorn art installations and sculptures, reflecting walls and facades, and firework displays will be held. There will be workshops and playrooms for children, volleyball, shape straw, juggling, bike riding from “wall to wall”, jumping to roar, and partying until the early hours. There will also be the world premiere of Truppinga.
Opuzen will surely become richer from the dozens of artwork pieces on their facades which will eventually turn into a gallery, free to enjoy for the public throughout the year. Some of the most famous artists and graffiti artists from the Croatian region such as Boris Bare (Pimp my Pump, Zagreb), Modul (Zagreb), Aser Aser (Mostar), Stipan Tadić (Zagreb), Luka Tomić (Široki Brijeg), Robin Abramović (Austrija) and Nikola Faller (Udruga Slama, Osijek) will be in attendance. The music program will be run by DJs Žac and Cosmo.
The first edition of the festival was more than successful, and truly showed a community eager for more artistic expression. Entrance is free and further details can be found on their Facebook page.
