May the 17th, 2025 – A 30 million euro project is set to transform Bakar. Construction has already begun, and it will be carried out across three phases.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, A 30 million euro project in Bakar has now officially begun in the form of the construction of a large business and sport complex. Everything is located in the Industrial Zone in Kukuljanovo. The project includes a 34-metre water polo pool, two smaller pools, a sports hall, business premises, parking lots and a kindergarten. A large part of the space will be intended for companies, and in addition, green areas, parks and a promenade will be properly arranged. The entire 30 million project in Bakar is being implemented across several phases, with the first phase including the preparation of documentation and land acquisition.
The works began on May the 14th, and are currently focused on the construction of an access road and excavations. That will see the second phase of the project implementation begin, in which the contractor is the company GPP Mikić, according to a report from Točka na i. A prerequisite for the third phase of the 30 million euro project in Bakar is the construction of a road with infrastructure and a plateau marked A7 in the industrial zone itself. The Mayor of Bakar, Tomislav Klarić, announced that the third phase of these works should start early next year, and a tender for the contractor will be announced at that time.
The contract for the second phase of the works, worth 1.48 million euros including VAT, was signed back in April by Mayor Klarić, the director of the Bakar Industrial Zone, Linda Sciucca, the director of the KD Water Supply and Sewerage Company Andrej Marochini, and Board Member of G.P.P. Mikić Nikola Turčić. Bakar is financing the works in the amount of 424,043.70 euros including VAT, the Water Supply and Sewerage Company in the amount of 213,268.49 euros including VAT, while the Bakar Industrial Zone is co-financing the works in the amount of 843,219.00 euros including VAT. The completion of the future complex in Bakar is currently scheduled for 2027.
