Minister Lorencin has plenty of reasons to smile
In the first 8 months of 2015 Croatia is showing record numbers in tourism. In August we had a 5,5% increase in arrivals and 4,7% more overnight stays compared to 2014 while the cumulative increase in the first 8 months is 6,5% making this season the best one ever!
“August once again met all out expectations and I am very pleased to see that this positive trend is continuing. We’re looking to September with justified optimism since all forecasts and confirmed bookings are showing that September is becoming a part of our peak season. Since prolonging the season is one of our main goals, we have to say that we are on the right track. All tourism workers have done a tremendous job this year and they have to be congratulated” – Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin commented during today’s conference in Bol on island Brač.
According to official data, in the first 8 months 11,5 million guests visited Zagreb and the coast and achieved 66 million overnight stays. Most arrivals and overnights were recorded in Istria with 2,98 million arrivals (increase of 7,7%) followed by Split Dalmatian County with 2,13 million arrivals (increase of 8,8%) and Kvarner with 2,04 million arrivals ( 8,7% increase).
