ZAGREB, February 22. 2018 – Croatia’s nine airports in 2017 saw more than 9.5 million passengers, an increase of almost 18% from the year before, show figures from the national statistical office.
The airports also saw close to 116,000 flights, an increase of 7.1%. Cargo transport totalled 10,000 tonnes, up 21.4% from 2016.
Zagreb Airport reported the most passengers, 32.6% of the total number of passengers or more than three million, an increase of 12% from the previous year.
The highest increases in the number of passengers, albeit at a lower scale, were reported by the airports in Osijek and on the island of Brač, which saw 43,000 and 20,300 passengers, up 42% and 70.5% respectively.
