78 Million Kuna Energy Renewal of Split Hospital Križine Officially Presented Today

Largest investment in hospitals in Croatia, energy renewal project of Split hospital Križine is finally completed and the new building was officially opened on November 2, 2015. As the officials stated during their speeches, invested 78 million kuna will be returned in energy savings over the next 14 years.

Energy renewal project included the refurbishment of 18 000 square metres of facade, 7700 square metres of the roof area and 8300 PVC and aluminium shutters.

According to the Remediation manager of Clinical Hospital Centre Split dr. Poljak, this refurbishment will save 74%of water consumption,, CO2 emissions and in 2016 hospital will he heated using natural gas instead of crude oil “Our hospital is now ecologically cleaner and more pleasant for the patients. Just as an example, this time last year, we had to turn the heaters on as opposed to this year”.

Dr. Poljak called the renewal of the hospital a historic event for the 50 year old object. While Poljak was very careful not to reveal too many details about the energy renewal of Firule second part of the Split Clinical Hospital Centre, Minister Varga said that it will be completely renewed and that the elaborate is already finished “ Through the next four years, Split hospital will be one of the most significant hospitals in Croatia” Varga stated.

Split hospital hospitalises more than 55 000 people every year, conducts more than 1 000 000 check ups and 3 000 000 diagnostic tests.

“Energy renewal of Križine hospital is the largest investment in our health system. This is the template we will use in all other hospitals in the country” – Minister Varga said.
