A new era for an incredible attractive location in Sibenik?

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Ana Maria Filipovic Grcic writes on the 16th of April, 2018, the coastal Dalmatian City of Šibenik has launched an international tender for the urbanistic solution of a very attractive location.

In Šibenik’s Jazir Šižgorić City Library, an exhibition of works submitted to the international tender “European 14” launched back in March 2017, is finally being opened. The aim of the move is to discuss and devise a step forward when it comes to an urban planning solution for the location of the former electrode and ferro-alloy factory (TEF) in the increasingly popular city of Šibenik.

As they say from the City of Šibenik, TEF is a site brimming with potential, boasting 33 hectares of undisturbed areas for possible construction, infrastructure-equipped land, and about a thousand feet of beautiful coastline.

“In the future, this area should become the bearer of the economic and tourist development of the city. It’s a project of strategic interest to Šibenik because we’re looking for an active zone to combine the economic and the public sector,” noted Mayor Željko Burić at the opening of the exhibition.

Currently, there are about 23 ambitious architectural plans and works for the aforementioned area on show, made up of a massive 71 contestants from 14 countries around the world.
