Construction Growth Slows Down

ZAGREB, March 12, 2018 – The volume of construction work done by companies with 20 or more employees in 2017 was 2.2% higher than in 2016, while the amount of the new contracts was up 11.5%, show preliminary statistics published by the national statistical office (DZS).

The data show a certain deceleration in the construction activity. In 2016, the volume of the construction work rose by 4.7% on the year and the volume of new orders rose by 15%.

Building construction accounted for 48% of all construction work in 2017, while civil engineering construction accounted for 52%.
