Croatia Gets a New Retail Chain with 20 Stores Opening in the First Year

The retail chain PEPCO, which currently operates in several Central European countries, has started its operations in Croatia. The opening of the first store is expected in the first half of 2017, with the first workers being employed early next year. PEPCO plans to open 20 shops during the first year of operations in Croatia, reports

PEPCO is a European retail chain that offers customers clothes for the whole family and household products at competitive rates, with stores in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania. The brand first began operations in Poland in 2004, and has since recorded a great interest of customers – with the business expanding into Central and Eastern Europe. In October of 2016, PEPCO will celebrate the opening of 1000 stores in Europe.

The first PEPCO store plans to open in early April 2017 in Zagreb. During the first three years of operations on the Croatian market, the brand plans to open about 50 stores throughout the country, mainly in cities with over 10,000 residents – which plans to create around 400 jobs. The company is currently running a recruitment process management for headquarters in Zagreb and is looking for spaces to rent with an area of approximately 450m2 for long-term cooperation.


PEPCO shops include options for children, women’s and men’s clothing, lingerie, fashion accessories, toys, home furnishings, decorative products and ornaments, household textiles and others. Approximately 60% of the offer is clothing, and 40% is for other products. PEPCO is currently the largest distributor of children’s clothing with an assortment designed for children 0-14 years. Their stores run more than 6 million transactions per month.


PEPCO currently employs around 9,000 people and has won numerous awards in the retail sector including the Forbes Diamond award and the Good Brand and Quality of Service Award.
