Jadrolinija’s ship “Dubrovnik” will take over an important international passenger service.

Two of the oldest passenger shipping companies in the Adriatic Sea, Jadrolinija from Croatia and Barska Plovidba from Montenegro, have signed a one-year cooperation agreement about a joint project for connecting Bar in Montenegro and Bari in Italy. The line will be maintained by the Jadrolinija’s ship “Dubrovnik”, which will also continue with its currents assignment of connecting Dubrovnik and Bari. That service will be extended until the end of November, reports Poslovni.hr April 22, 2017.

The Bar-Bari line will be available to all passengers starting from 18 May until the end of November 2017, with the possibility of extension if there is sufficient market demand. During the high tourist season, “Dubrovnik” will enter the Bar port twice a week, and once a week in other parts of the year.

Barska Plovidba will carry out agency, sales and promotion services of the international line for Jadrolinija.

This cooperation represents a combination of experience and tradition of the two shipping companies. It will make possible to exercise all the existing comparative advantages over other European shipping companies. Jadrolinija and Barska Plovidba continue to discuss other possible forms of mutual cooperation in connecting destinations of mutual interest.

Jadrolinija is one of Croatia’s oldest shipping transport companies. It arose through the merger of several smaller coastal shipping companies after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and those previous shipping companies arose from other mergers, and so on, all the way back to 1872. Today, Jadrolinija has about 50 ships in ferry lines, international lines and fast lines.

“Dubrovnik” has 148 cabins with a total of 457 beds and 384 airline seats. Among amenities are a restaurant (135 seats), a self-service restaurant (224 seats), patisserie, bar-cafe (274 seats), video hall, a chapel and a playing area for the kids.
