EU Tourism Institute to Be Based in Split?

ZAGREB, April 21, 2018 – Croatian MEP Ivica Tolić said on Friday evening he had launched activities aimed at forming an EU institute for tourism with headquarters in the Croatian Adriatic city of Split, adding that his office had already exchanged information about his initiative with the European Commission.

“My office has already exchanged information with the European Commission about the idea to form an institute for the development of tourism at the EU level and that its headquarters be in Split,” Tolić said at a round table debate about the role of Croatian MEPs, held in Split o Friday.

He said the idea came from him and a group of young Split residents, adding he would present the idea to Split mayor Andro Krstulović Opara and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, hoping for their support.
