Indian Pharmaceutical Group Opens European HQ in Zagreb

The office in Zagreb will cover Europe and Russia.

The Indian ACG Worldwide pharmaceuticals corporation, which opened a plant in Ludbreg, is continuing with investments in Croatia, now through the ACG Inspection Systems company, which will work on various quality control systems in drug manufacturing, as well as related software solutions. The new company will be the ACG’s centre for Europe and Russia, continuing with the Indian investor’s drive to position Croatia as the headquarters of its European operations, reports Večernji List on October 12, 2017.

More than 300 million kunas have been invested so far in the ACG Lukaps company in Ludbreg. In Croatia, they have a strong political and market support and have no problem with infamous Croatian bureaucracy, said Ettore Cucchetti, director of ACG Inspection Systems, pointing out that they had excellent conditions in Croatia.

In Zagreb, they will employ between 25 and 30 people in the next six months. “At the group level, we have more than 5,000 employees, and we invest heavily in attracting and retaining talented workers. In Croatia, we have come across highly capable and motivated employees. Despite not being a well-known brand among the general population, we can find excellent staff,” said Cucchetti.

In the field of quality control in the pharmaceutical industry, ACG has an intense competition in the European market, but Cucchetti points out that it is precisely this which motivates them. “We are very ambitious, and we are the second most important pharmaceutical industry supplier in the world. In the next four years, we intend to become one of the three most important companies in Europe in the area of pharmaceuticals control and software solutions,” added Cucchetti.

The latest requirements of the European Union were precisely the reason for the extension of their operations. Namely, in most developed countries, serialisation in the pharmaceutical industry will become mandatory due to the growing number of counterfeit medicines in the market. This problem will be minimised by serialisation, with means the labelling of each original product with a unique barcode to check its origin.

One of important business partners of ACGIS in Croatia is the IN2Trace company. In April this year, the Indian corporation bought the Croatian company which specialises in the development of software solutions in the field of serialisation. The importance of this project is also demonstrated by the fact that the opening of the Zagreb office will be attended by the owners of ACG Worldwide and members of the company’s management board.

ACG Worldwide is a multinational corporation which meets the needs of more than 1,500 clients in more than 80 countries. The company offers its many clients high-tech solutions which follow global standards and market demands.
