Ivan Mrvoš, a young entrepreneur from Solin and inventor of the first smart bench in Europe, has a new product which he presented on Tuesday for the first time at the biggest Smart City fair in Barcelona.

“In response to the challenges of modern cycling tourism, Include has created its new GreenTech product – the Monna Cycling Point,” said Mrvoš for Index.hr on November 13, 2018.

“Monna is designed as a technological solution for urban and rural environments at locations without electricity. In addition to the charging functions of the device, Wi-Fi system and street lighting, Monna, with specially designed solar panels, allows the charging of electric bicycles, has a smart air compressor, and tools for bicycle repair. There are built-in sensors for collecting and analyzing data via the Dashboard on the number of bikes, the operation of different components and atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.).

Monna represents innovation in the Smart City market by combining urban furniture, the Internet of Things (IoT) and solar energy for a new GreenTech solution. The first positive reactions and the great interest of visitors at the Smart City Fair in Barcelona show that this product will surely find its buyers and users in global markets,” Mrvoš added.

Mrvoš’s company Include was named the fastest growing company in Central Europe as part of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ‘Rising Star’ program last month.

“We are the first Croatian company to have won in this category, with a growth of 1950% in the last three years of business operations.

Include, a Croatian company that in three years has become the creator of perspective squares, streets and parks, with multi-million-dollar investments in the development of new technologies, has successfully put six models of the Steora smart benches into the global market,” said Mrvoš.

In addition to charging devices, Wi-Fi, and street lighting, the Steora bench also enables the surveillance of public areas via advanced cameras and digital advertising via the LCD screen using the recognition of passers-by to target users.

The Dashboard on the Steora smart bench is the most advanced, using the Smart City system for managing and controlling smart products in public areas – and the quality of the system is implemented in the solutions of the leading global telecom groups.

In just three years, the company has successfully installed more than 900 smart benches into 40 global markets in more than 250 cities.

In 2018 alone, 1.5 million users jumped on the smart bench Wi-Fi, and more than 250,000 used the bench to charge their smart devices.

“Over the past 12 months of active market research and in search of inspiration for the new product, the trend of strong electric bicycle sales and the growth of cycling tourism was noticed, especially in Europe.

At the same time, there was the challenge of charging an increasing number of electric bicycles in urban areas, as well as the lack of modernizing an increasing number of cycling routes in rural areas. The value of the cycling tourism market in Europe is estimated at several billion euros, and places like Great Britain and Germany allocate over 100 million euro to equip cycling routes each year,” explained Mrvoš on why he decided to invent Monna.

This is the innovator’s first new product after the smart bench in 2015.
