The well-known brewery will soon open a new facility near Rijeka.
Well-known brewery Kaltenberg Adria is currently building a production-office facility in Kukuljanovo, in the area of the Bakar Industrial Zone, which will bring about fifty new jobs. At the end of last year, after months of discussions, the public tender was completed and the contract was signed, reports Novi List on March 6, 2017.
“The purpose of the planned new building is a production-office facility for Kaltenberg Adria. The company will perform a number of activities there, including production, which is planned for the ground floor, as well as a hospitality facility which will include salling of beer, food and other beverages. Plans include a restaurant and a shop with delicacies from the local area and, of course, Kaltenberg beer”, said Damir Tomljanović, member of Kaltenberg’s board of directors. Tomljanović added that the value of the investment was between 9.5 and 10 million euros. The new premises, whose completion is expected by the end of June, will bring about between forty and fifty new jobs, mostly for locals living in the area.
According to Irvin Badurina, the director of the Bakar Industrial Zone, this project has confirmed the fact that constant development of the industrial zone, which has been particularly fast in the last 15 years, has been recognized not only in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and Croatia, but also in the European Union. “We are glad that a well-known global producer has started to build its premises in our industrial zone. This is a very important project, not just due to the investment itself, but also due to new jobs which will be created. Kaltenberg is a well-known brand, it has a long tradition and a special value”, said Badurina. He added that the project has proved that a road with complete infrastructure which was financed by the Town of Bakar was the main prerequisite for attracting investors.
Kaltenberg has the right to use the facility for the next fifty years and will pay a monthly rent. “Wherever in the world that Kaltenberg beer is produced, it is produced in accordance with the Bavarian beer rules and family tradition. Kaltenberg is characterized by a unique production process and the finest ingredients, and as such is recognized and respected internationally”, said Tomljanović.
Mayor of Bakar Tomislav Klarić is proud that his town has been chosen for the investment. “Kaltenberg is one of the most important investments in recent years in the Bakar area. This is a very recognizable brand which will surely attract other investors to the zone as well. It is also a proof that our investment in the zone was justified. I believe that Kaltenberg will soon het a new neighbour. It will probably be a food production facility. We are still negotiating with the foreign investor, but hope to open additional 150 jobs”, said Klarić.
