New logistics and distribution centre opened near Zagreb.

RALU Logistika today officially opened its new logistics and distribution centre in Rugvica in the Zagreb County. The whole greenfield investment worth 150 million kuna was financed with company capital, and the construction lasted for 9 months, reports Poslovni.hr on October 6, 2015.

Luka Rajić, owner of RALU Logistika, said that the investment was a step towards becoming a regional leader in logistics. He announced the further expansion of the centre, and the construction of a similar facility in Serbia.

RALU Logistika used the opening of the new logistics and distribution centre to celebrate 25 years in business. “In 25 years, RALU Logistika has grown into the leading independent supplier of integrated logistics services, today has more than 170 modern refrigerated trucks, employs more than 300 employees in Croatia and Serbia, and draws 65 percent of its revenues from the markets in other EU countries”, said at the ceremony the managing director of RALU Logistika Zvonimir Šćurec.

Owner of RALU Logistika Luka Rajić said that with this project the total amount of his investment in the company had exceeded 400 million kuna. “I am proud to create jobs for people, I am grateful and I believe in the further development of our company”, said Rajić, adding that 25 years ago to the day he opened his first transport company RALU Transporti.

“We are celebrating 25 years of successful business thanks to our staff, since a company is only as strong as its employees and partners. I call on you all to continue with the good work”, said Rajić. “I am happy that I have invested in Croatia and in this centre and I believe in the return on investment, because Croatia is absolutely a country that will have sustainable growth”, said Rajić.

Croatian prime minister Zoran Milanović was present at the ceremony and said that he was honoured to be at the opening of such project which was financed by private capital. “Logistics operations are even more complex than production, which cannot be seen on the roads, but it is a very competitive and advance branch in Europe and in the world”, said Milanović, adding that here was an entrepreneur who decided to invest his money in Croatia. “This is the way which Croatia has to follow. Investments and activities like this are a bridge that connects Croatia with Europe and the world”, said Milanović.
