While Croatia is rightfully proud of the many hours of sunshine it has, sometimes it can be just a bit too much. As part of the 20 years of the highly successful ‘Let’s Buy Croatian’ campaign, we continue our look at Croatian manufacturing excellence with the innovative sun protection solutions offered by Ultra Stop from Zagreb.
Croatia is well-known for its warm climate, which brings it many hours of sunshine. While it is excellent news for those going to the beaches, for production facilities it can sometimes get too much. In that case, one of the possible solutions is offered by Ultra Stop, the latest Croatian company to be presented in our “Let’s Buy Croatian” series.
Ultra Stop from Zagreb offers sun protection and thermal isolation technologies which can be applied to glass, plastic and various other surfaces. While similar solutions have been present in the global and European markets for many years now, some of the latest developments in the field are coming from Croatia.
The company has extensive experience in the field of sun protection, foils, special coatings and colours for glass and plastic surfaces, and all kinds of non-transparent materials. Its mission is to help all its clients solve problems with various types of surfaces in the area of sun protection, as well in the field of waterproofing and thermal insulation solutions.
It responds as quickly as possible to customer’s requests, determines the best possible price, uses the highest quality materials, and guarantees that the work will be professionally done. Such an attitude has enabled it to compete in the demanding European market, where it has been present for many years now.
In early 2016, the company introduced the ISO 9001-2015 certification. It also maintains its environmental protection system in accordance with the ISO 1401-2015 standard.
Among its products, the company is especially proud of the Ultra Stop sun protection coatings, which can be used on flat and uneven glass and plastic surfaces.
Coatings for glass surfaces can be applied on all such surfaces which are flat and laid vertically on the building, no matter the dimensions. The application is carried out by a special machine which evenly applies the coating in various shades.
Coatings for uneven glass surfaces are used on kopelit and decorative glass. Such surfaces can be treated in the same way as flat glass surfaces, but also with a brush or roller, and in some cases even by spraying.
Coatings for plastic surfaces are blurry, while at the same time enabling daylight to pass and keeping the heat and UV rays out. These coatings are also known as frost coatings and come in several different colours.
The Super Therm coating is used for all other surfaces, including wood, metal and concrete. It is a ceramic insulating coating, made on the basis of water. It is specially designed to block heat, moisture and air from entering virtually any type of surface. Super Therm is non-flammable and is heat-resistant. With its unique combination of ceramic compounds, it has been proven to be the most efficient long-lasting water-based ceramic insulation coating available on the market today.
Some of the major Croatian companies and institutions which have used Ultra Stop’s services and products are: the Dubrava Clinical Hospital, Lipa Mill, Billa, Croatian Air Traffic Control, Pliva, the Clinical Hospital Centre in Osijek, Croatian Electric Company (HEP), Lagermax, Porsche Inter Auto, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, INA and Zagrebačka Banka.

The company has recently received the Croatian Quality label, which is a recognition given to Croatian producers and, at the same time, a guarantee to consumers that the products meet the highest quality level. A team of technical experts visited the company’s premises in Zagreb and inspected its production facilities. On the basis of the evidence seen, they gave a favourable opinion and approved the Croatian Quality label to be given to the company.
Ultra Stop regularly takes part in business fairs and presentations of Croatian products organised by the Croatian Chambers of Economy as part of the “Let’s Buy Croatian” campaign.
In addition to its own products, Ultra Stop is also the primary Croatian representative of a number of international companies in the field of waterproofing, anti-corrosion protection, thermal insulation and sun protection. Among others, Ultra Stop represents the Izol Plastik company from the Czech Republic, which is a renowned manufacturer of liquid waterproofing and anti-corrosion protection products. For the superior thermal insulation and anti-corrosion protection, the company uses products made by the SPE company, which has a very wide range of coatings for floors, walls and all other polyurethane based surfaces. In early 2014, Ultra Stop became a representative of the VIP Germany Technology company, whose products created a revolution in areas of waterproofing, thermal insulation, anti-corrosion protection and antiballistic protection.
As for plans for the future, Ultra Stop will continue to meet the demands of its customers and expand its activities to a much larger EU market. It also hopes to offer additional Croatia-made products which will be offered to the international markets. With this vision, it enters the third decade of its continuous operations.
