Total Croatia News

Another major success for Croatian car industry.

Legendary car manufacturer Aston Martin announced today that the battery system for its AM-001 RB model would be produced by Croatia’s Rimac Automobili, reports Index.hr on February 15, 2017.

On his Facebook profile, Mate Rimac wrote that he had not yet received an approval for publication of more detailed information about the deal. This contract is a huge recognition for Rimac Automobili and another confirmation that they are at the top of the global automotive industry.

Aston Martin AM 001-RB is not just another sports vehicle for the rich, but a true race car and, according to many, the technologically most perfect car ever produced in the world. This model, thanks to its partner Red Bull Racing, includes numerous technical solutions which were originally designed for Formula One cars.

This is the second major business recognition for Rimac Automobili. After Koenigsegg, Aston Martin is the second manufacturer of super sport cars that has decided to use Rimac’s technology. There is no doubt that, with this contract, Rimac has reach the top of the electrical engine battery system technology.

Entrepreneur Saša Cvetojević, who is well-known as a promoter of electric cars, commented on Rimac’s success. “People perceive Rimac by his Concept One car, and ask him how many cars he has sold. But, that car is just the flagship which is accompanied by a whole range of technologies and knowledge. Rimac used Concept One to present himself to the world, and now this is the second major company which manufactures supercars that will use Rimac to produce the battery pack. Aston Martin is a company which produces strongest cars in the world, it is at the very top”, said Cvetojević.

“Given that he is working for such companies, it is possible that he is developing other things that he cannot speak in public about. This means that Croatia now has a serious automobile industry, especially in the segment that will become even more important in the future”, said Cvetojević and added, “the biggest car companies in the world are switching to electric drives. Rimac is going in the right direction, together with the major producers.”

Cvetojević was asked whether he was sorry he did not invest in Rimac Automobili five years ago, when he was offered the opportunity. “I feel bad for years, I still keep the e-mail. That is one of my mistakes, because I did not have the courage to believe in him, and I miscalculated”, said Cvetojević.
