Zagreb i set to have another high class hotel by the end of the year, Le Premier with four stars, being completed in the centre of town, invested in by Gojko Ostojić, owner of the international university Libertas. The investment is valued at 10 million Euro, while the hotel will also serve as a learning round for Libertas students, as Poslovni Dnevnik reported on July 11, 2016.

“One of the programmes of our university is hotel and tourism management, whose programme is being coordinated with the labour market needs. The hotel will among other things be an education platform for our students, who will be able to try all phases of the hotel business, from marketing to management and get a feel for the real hotel jobs,” Ostojić explained, this being his first entry to tourism.

Although he spent most of his career in the insurance and education businesses, Ostojić graduated in tourism from the Zagreb Faculty of Economics. He was always interested in the hotel business, he divulged. He spoke about it often with his former partner in the insurance business Jako Andabaka, who is currently the majority owner of the Bluesun hotel chain. “Although hotels have interested me for a long time, I’m only getting started now, but I feel it is the right time for a hotel of this type in Zagreb,” Ostojić added, buying the building from Privredna Bank. The building is a cultural monument and hence the facade has been restored. Interior design is underway.

From Nataša Ostojić, the project manager, we find Le Premier will have 62 rooms and a presidential suite, a restaurant and open type bar and a spa for hotel guests. The hotel will have 4+ stars. As is known, investors have been avoiding highest category levels due to better sales as the policy of most companies is not to stay in five star hotels. “It will be open year-round, expecting first guests this fall, or by the end of the year. We plan to hire around 20 people,” Nataša Ostojić said.

This is the first larger hotel investment in Zagreb after the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton in 2012. Le Premier might compete with the nearby Sheraton Zagreb, although not completely as they don’t have meeting spaces. The nest larger hotel investment in Zagreb is being prepared by Adris, who is planning hotels in the buildings of Croatia insurance in Miramarska and Ban Jelačić Square.
