The investment is worth 539 million kunas, and the hotel will be opened next year.
The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts announced that an agreement had been signed on the preparation and implementation of the strategically important investment project “Hotel Park 5 Stars” in Rovinj. The value of the investment undertaken by the Maistra tourist company amounts to 539 million kunas, reports Poslovni.hr on 30 June 2017.
“The implementation of the Hotel Park 5 Stars project is expected to bring significant long-term positive direct and indirect multiplier effects on the economy of the town of Rovinj, Istria County and the Republic of Croatia as a whole, by increasing the number of beds in the five star category, increasing revenues from the international markets, opening 85 new jobs, increasing income and employment of suppliers of Croatian products and services, increasing employment in construction sector, and having a positive effect on export of services and the balance of payments of the Republic of Croatia,” explained the Ministry in a statement.
The hotel will remain open year-round, with its 209 accommodation units, including 190 exclusive rooms and 20 suites.
The Hotel Park 5 Stars project is funded by private capital, and the value of the total project is estimated at 539 million kunas, the Ministry added.
At the end of September last year, the Government declared that this Maistra initiative was a strategically important investment project of the Republic of Croatia and this decision was published in the Official Gazette. Now, the agreement on its preparation and implementation has been signed.
Maistra from Rovinj, which is part of the Adris group, began work on the construction of the new Park Hotel last year. “In 2016, the building of the new Park Hotel has begun. It is an essential facility in the development of the hotel offer in Rovinj,” Adris Group said in a statement.
The old hotel has been completely demolished, and on its foundations an entirely new facility is being built. At its website, Maistra claims that the hotel would be opened next year.
