The Russian Sberbank is one of the largest creditors of the Agrokor concern, with 1.1 billion euro in approved loans
First Deputy of Management President of Russian Sberbank Maksim Poletaev said on Monday after his meeting with the Croatian government a solution on Agrokor is likely and that continued financing will depend on the “level of cooperation. We had a very clear meeting. We discussed many issues, and I believe we should be able to find a solution,” stated Poletaev to reporters after leaving the government building where he spoke to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Deputy PM and Economy Minister Martina Dalić, Hina reported on May 19, 2017.
Asked if the financing of the concern will continue, he answered briefly: “This depends on the level of cooperation.” Poletaev discussed options for the bank to continue financing the Agrokor concern. Joining Poletaev was Management President of Sberbank Croatia Mario Henjak.
The Russian Sberbank is one of the largest creditors of the Agrokor concern, with 1.1 billion euro in approved loans. The last loan was approved in the first trimester of this year, in the amount of one hundred million euro, for which the representatives of the Russian bank demanded the status of “oldest claim” as a condition for potential new loans.
Plenković stated on Sunday talks are underway with domestic and Russian banks regarding the financing of Agrokor and his expectation it will continue under more favourable conditions than before.
“Talks are underway, new financing will come. Negotiations are not taking place nor publicly. When they are finalised they will certainly be under more favourable terms than before,” stated Plenković.
