Ron Brown Scholarships Announced For US Students at Zagreb School of Economics and Management

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management and the U.S. Embassy in Croatia announced on September 8, 2016 a new program for Croatian American students who are accepted and meet the requirements to enter the “U.S.-CROATIA Ron Brown International Scholarship Competition” and get a chance to be awarded one of three undergraduate scholarships or one of two MBA scholarships. The scholarships would be awarded for study at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, the top business school in Croatia.

“These scholarships are the latest example of the excellent and growing cooperation between the United States and Croatia to promote our shared security, prosperity, and values. We are confident there will be excellent applicants, and know the winners of these prestigious scholarships will serve as Ambassadors for even close bilateral relations between our countries in the future,” said US Ambassador Julieta Valls Noyes last week.

The Competition is organized for the academic year 2017-2018 and the award will cover a major portion of the tuition fee for the first year of the four year undergraduate degree program with the goal of internationalization of higher education in the Republic of Croatia in the United States. Criteria for financing a major portion of the 1st year’s tuition fee are; applicants must be citizens of the United States with residence address in the U.S.; applicants must have had graduated from a four-year high school. There will be 3 awards given for financing a major portion of the first year’s tuition fee of the academic year 2017-2018 in the amount of 6000 EUR for the undergraduate program in economics and management in English and for the undergraduate program in business math and economics in English for applicants who meet the requirements.

There will be 2 awards given in the amount of 5500 EUR for the MBA program for applicants who meet the requirements.

The National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation will help promote the scholarship program throughout the United States at the request of the US Ambassador to Croatia, Julieta Valls Noyes.
The applicants must fill out the form on the ZSEM (www.zsem.hr) website. All applications for the competition must be received no later than December 1, 2016.
