The successful Austrian group has its sights on expansion in Croatia.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 10th of March, 2018, the Austrian Supernova Group has taken over four Croatian commercial facilities: Kaptol Centar, Branimir Centar and Cvjetni Centar in Zagreb, as well as City Colosseum in Slavonski Brod.
Soon, the opening of the new Supernova shopping centre in the Dalmatian city of Zadar will take place, and by taking up new and expanding existing projects, the Supernova Group has increased the number of shopping centres here in the Republic of Croatia by as much as 260,000 square metres, and further strengthened their overall leading position in the country by the number of shopping centers owned by them.
With the completion of the sales transactions for the new centres – Kaptol Centar, Branimir Centar, Cvjetni Centar, and Slavonski Brod’s City Colosseum, whose value will not be revealed by the contractual agreements, Austria’s Supernova Group will develop new business models in regard to numerous new projects, with the respective development plans taking into account the specifics and requirements of each and every centre.
“With regard to Branimir Centar, in cooperation with the partner company City Zagreb Hotel, we’ll open the hotel with a new, as yet unseen concept on the Croatian market, the Canopy hotel, the Hilton brand chain. Kaptol Centar will go through complete rebranding and a change of the business model, in accordance with the existing architectural vision of the facility located in the old, traditional part of Zagreb. All development plans, both new and existing shopping centres in the group’s portfolio, are aimed at the satisfaction of customers and visitors, whose experience we want to make better and more enjoyable. We’re trying to find and apply this concept to all of our centres,” stated Paul Merdzo, Director of Supernova’s projects for Croatia, on the occasion of the company’s further expansion in the country.
On March the 22nd, the opening of the new part of the Supernova Centre Zadar will take place, encompassing a total area of 68,000 square meters and employing more than 800 people, making the shopping centre one of the largest in the whole of Dalmatia.
With its new acquisitions, Supernova Group currently owns fourteen operational projects here in Croatia, and in all Supernova stores in Croatia – including shopping centres, and retail parks – it has 6,470 people.
To date, the total investment of Austria’s Supernova Group in Croatia stands at around 400 million euro.
