ZAGREB, May 2, 2018 – The association of the Agrokor Group’s suppliers on Wednesday supported its representative in the interim creditors council in a motion to examine the legality of an agreement between the City of Zagreb and Agrokor’s emergency administration on the payment of Tisak’s debt to the city.
The Atlantic group’s vice president for finance Zoran Stanković said he hoped a settlement would be reached for Agrokor despite a recent court decision on the make-up of the creditors council.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of suppliers, he said they unanimously supported Marica Vidaković in the motion to examine the legality of the agreement signed by Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić and Agrokor emergency administrator Fabris Peruško on the payment of Tisak’s debt to the city. Tisak is part of the Agrokor group.
Bandić and Peruško said last week they had reached an agreement on the continuation of the cooperation between the City of Zagreb, Tisak and Agrokor.
Peruško said the agreement would not impact the arrangements reached so far with the key participants with a view to reaching a settlement for Agrokor, and that Zagreb would not collect more receivables than other suppliers, but “about 60%.”
Asked if a settlement could be reached by July 10, which is the legal deadline, Stanković said today “we can only hope so,” and that he hoped Peruško and his team would consider the latest court decisions “and that, together with the judge, he (Peruško) will make it possible for a settlement to be reached indeed.”
He said suppliers had been saying from the start that it was inappropriate to divide them into groups. “We believe the creditors council will have more members and that they will be grouped in line with their interests.”
