Owner Serđo Peteani used the old Labin cadastre building to create a four star facility, already employing 15 people
A year after construction began, Labin’s new town hotel Peteani opened today. The former building of the cadastre thus became a small family four star hotel, while the purchase, upgrade and renovation investment is up to 1.2 million Euro, Poslovni Dnevnik reported on July 21, 2016.
In the total area of 900 square metres, Peteani has 14 rooms, a restaurant, mini wellness and parking space. The hotel will be open year-round. “The building was bought in 2013, with first step s covering unavoidable bureaucratic set of duties, finding favourable loans and dealing with fiscal and parafiscal duties. The realisation was generously helped by HBOR loans and a positive attitude of the town of Labin,” the owner said. Labin Mayor Tulio Demetlika sees Peteani’s business undertaking as a proof of the propulsiveness of the local business climate that conforms to all demands of the market.
“Labin now has a new dimension that will greatly benefit the development of business tourism. In line with the area strategy of the town and effort we place in encouraging the development of small communities, we believed in this project from the beginning as it will attract guests from neighbouring countries,” Demetlika commented.
“Seeing that the Labin area has great beaches, a rich cultural and artist content, diversity of gastronomy and a broad range of sport and recreation services, all that was missing was a small, town hotel. The building we placed it in was always dear to me,” said Peteani. The main hotel characteristics are high service quality, authenticity and uniqueness.
They employ 15 people, while the owner does not exclude new job openings. Family hotels are more popular as they offer a more direct relationship to guests, something valued today. Rabac and other tourism centres with hotel chains Peteani does not see as competition and the offer something quite different. “A small hotel differs from the tourism present in the area. We do not aim at masses but at moderation. The hotel location functions as a link between medieval tradition of Labin and its newer, urban parts,” Peteani concluded.
