The two-day conference brings lectures, panels, and speeches from leading experts in the startup industry with the opportunity for networking and insight into the latest market trends.
Just a few days away, the biggest European conference of business angels “EBAN Winter University 2016” will be held in Zagreb, reports Poslovni.hr. Organized by the Croatian business angels (CRANE) and co-organized by the City of Zagreb, the EBAN Winter University 2016 will be held on 29 and 30 November in the Concert Hall Lisinski, making the concert hall a focal point for all entrepreneurs, investors, business angels and startup enthusiasts from all parts of Europe and the world.
The two-day conference brings lectures, panels and speeches from leading experts in the startup industry, as well as the opportunity to network and gain insight into the latest market trends. Big names will come together in Zagreb like Bruce Dickinson, frontman of Iron Maiden and entrepreneurs; Candace Johnson, President of EBAN and one of the 50 most powerful women in Europe; Johann Hansmann, Best European early stage investor, Tom Tyler, heads of corporate and investment department Bloomberg, Tom Yoritaka, director of Cisco and Peter Cowley, business angel of the year in the UK.
The conference will be held within the startup competition “Zagreb Connect” which will allow registered teams global visibility while sharing rich prizes from the prize fund, with values exceeding 100,000 euros – half of which will be cash prizes. In addition, the best of the best can win prizes like a trip to Tel Aviv to meet with the local startup scene or time in Silicon Valley. Furthermore, the EBAN Winter University this year, along with Zagreb Connect, will bring together as many as 150 teams from all over Europe. Among them will be selected finalists coming from 7 countries – Croatia, Slovenia, Denmark, Great Britain, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and even Jamaica. An especially happy statistic is the fact that among the finalists, 11 teams are from Croatia.
Thanks to the participation of partners such as the agency HAMAG BICRO and Israeli embassies, the conference has been able to further spread beyond the borders of Europe. The Israeli embassy leads with three high-ranking speakers who will be actively involved in the conference program and the mentoring of the finalists in Zagreb Connect. Thanks to them, the conference will have the opportunity to get to know the inventor of the USB stick Dove Moran, as well as Avi Marcel Kasztanem, founder of platform Sixgill, and Yoav Z. Chelouche from Aviv Venture Capital.
