Tourism Cooperation With China? Zhang Chunxian Visits Nikola Dobroslavic

Lauren Simmonds

China is a country which sees more and more of its nationals visiting Croatia with each passing year, could Zhang Chunxian’s visit be a sign of deeper ties in tourism between China and Croatia?

There appears to be a clear interest in tourism cooperation from the Chinese as a high delegation from the People’s Republic of China headed by Zhang Chunxian visits the Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County on the 9th of April 2017.

Zhang Chunxian, who is a member of the politburo of the Communist Party of China, held a meeting with Dubrovnik-Neretva County’s Prefect, Nikola Dobroslavic, in which special interests in cooperation in the field of tourism were discussed. Aside from discussions on possibilities regarding infrastructure projects, better air links and connections through European air hubs, Chunxian placed special emphasis on the fact that 120 million middle to upper class Chinese citizens are frequently travelling all around the world, and building on common interests in order to make the best out of the use of all the services which are on offer to Chinese tourists would be of mutual benefit.

DuList reports that the delegation will move inland to Zagreb tomorrow where they will meet with Croatia’s President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
