Ivanec and Jastrebarsko have been selected among the top ten European small towns which are the most attractive for investors.
Ivanec and Jastrebarsko have been selected by Financial Times on February 18.2016, among the top ten European small towns which are the most attractive for investors. According to the influential business newspaper, these towns have adopted the best strategies designed to attract foreign investments.
At the international competition Cities and Regions of the Future 2016/2017, the Financial Times has selected ten towns with less than 100,000 inhabitants, and named Ivanec as the single best foreign investment destination in Europe.
Ivanec has won its award thanks to a whole range of stimulus measures, incentives and strategies which it uses to attract foreign direct investments and which would probably make it the top destination for investment projects even in some of the more developed Western countries.
Interestingly, this is the second time that Ivanec and Jastrebarsko have found themselves in such a distinguished company. In 2014, analysts of the Financial Times have recognized that Ivanec was offering a completely new approach to investors, in a form of specially designed and innovative incentive strategies. In 2012, Jastrebarsko became the first Croatian town which was named as one of the towns of the future in Southern Europe.
“This recognition is the best proof that we were right when we decided to focus our development strategy largely on encouraging foreign direct investment. This is not just recognition for me and my associates, but also for all the inhabitants of our town, since it will greatly improve the international business image of Jastrebarsko”, said the Mayor of Jastrebarsko Zvonimir Novosel.
