Uber is getting more popular for Advent tours and was chosen by 30 percent more users than the year before.
Zagreb, January 17, 2019 – This year, Uber once again proved to be the right choice to tour all the holiday season events in four of Croatia’s biggest cities. Thus, for instance, nearly 30 percent more users compared to last year relied on Uber during Advent in Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, and Dubrovnik. While the tourists’ destinations mostly included city centers featuring the Advent offer, the locals increasingly used Uber to go holiday shopping, i.e. to get to various shopping malls.
In Split, Uber was mostly used to get to the Mall of Split, the city center or the ferry port, while in Dubrovnik, the most popular destinations unsurprisingly included the City Walls and the airport. At the same time, the citizens of Zagreb increasingly relied on Uber to do their holiday shopping. Most users requested Uber rides to get to the Arena Zagreb shopping mall or the city center and all the locations were Europe’s Best Christmas Market was taking place. Rijeka’s Advent locations were also toured by both locals and their guests; most frequently, they took Uber either to the city center or to the Trsat Castle, which hosted the second Advent na Gradini event.
Apart from short intracity routes, the users often rely on Uber to take them on longer routes across the country. The longest route in December was 309 kilometers long, going from central Croatia to Istria. Furthermore, in December, which is the period of the year with the most tourist visits, along with the summer season, Uber was mostly used by tourists from the United States, the UK, France, Austria, Belgium, and Canada.
While holidaying during Advent in Croatia, tourists from almost 80 countries around the world chose Uber as their go-to transport solution, once again showing how well Uber complements Croatia’s tourist offer all year round.
