New data reveal that there is one sector in which the average salary amounted to HRK 17,447.
According to Jutarnji list’s article on August 21, 2017, the average net salary in May was HRK 6,977, which represents a nominal increase of 1.4 percent on a monthly basis, and 6.2 percent per annum, according to the data of the City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb.
The average monthly salary for May this year was HRK 99 higher than in April and HRK 408 higher than in May last year. In comparison with the country’s average monthly salary, which was HRK 6,025 in May, the average Zagreb net salary for May 2017, was HRK 925 higher.
Statistics show that the highest average net salary, HRK 17,447, was paid to employees working in the field of extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas. They are followed by employees in the production of refined petroleum products with an average salary of HRK 16,051 and those in ancillary mine services with an average salary of HRK 14,588.
There were three more areas where the average net salary was higher than HRK10,000 – the production of basic pharmaceuticals, with HRK10,889, then computer, electronic and optical products, with HRK 10,635, and, finally, financial services, excluding insurance and pension funds, with HRK 10,015.
On the other hand, there were three areas where salaries were lower than HRK 4,000 – production of clothes, with HRK 3,807, other personal service activities, with HRK 3,857, and protective and investigative activities, with HRK 3,894.
According to data from the City Office for the Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb, the average gross salaries of employees in May in Zagreb amounted to HRK 9,735, which is nominally 1.4 percent higher than in April and 4.4 percent higher than in May last year.
