Chaos on Croatian Roads: 10km Backup to Split from Omiš, Roads Completely Paralyzed!

Daniela Rogulj

If we have any advice for you today, please stay off the roads!

Traffic is currently backed up for 10 kilometers at the entrance to Split from the direction of Omiš, with congestion also on the road from Omiš to Dugi Rat. If the crowds continue at this pace, the situation will severely worsen, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on August 12, 2017.

The extended weekend and peak season has done everything but help the ever-problematic section between Split and Omiš, and crowds and stoppages can be found on the roads going in both the direction of the sea and the interior.

In front of the toll booths in Dugopolje, in the direction of Split, the traffic is backed up for about 1.5 kilometers.

Congestion and traffic can also be found in the section between Zadar 2 and the Sveti Rok tunnel in the direction of Zagreb. In front of the tunnel, traffic is backed up for about 2 kilometers.

On the Krk bridge in the direction of the island, traffic is backed up for about 5 kilometers. Even heavier traffic has been reported in the direction of the mainland where cars are backed up for 20 kilometers.

On the Zagreb bypass towards Lučko from the direction of Buzina, cars are backed up for about 4 kilometers, as well as from the direction of Jankomir.

The situation is no better at the Istrian Y. Cars are backed up at the border crossings of Kaštel and Plovanija for 9-kilometers which partly extends to the Istrian Y, while in front of the Učka tunnel in the direction of Rijeka, cars are backed up for about 10-kilometers.

More information soon.
