May the 10th, 2025 – Croatia saw very encouraging numbers of tourist arrivals in April 2025, with considerable increases compared to 2024.

As Morski writes, over the first four months of this year, there has been a tourist arrival increase of 3% with 2.27 million tourist arrivals and 4% with 6.4 million overnight stays realised. Croatia saw some very promising tourist arrivals in April 2025, something largely contributed to by the later Easter holidays. Over four days, the later Easter brought a double-digit increase in physical tourist traffic compared to Easter last year, which fell in March.

Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) data from the eVisitor system says that in the first four months of this year, 1.57 million foreign tourists were recorded across Croatia. Their overnight stays totalled an impressive 4.8 million, representative of increases of 2% and 4% compared to the same period last year.

The majority of overnight stays, 3.1 million of them to be precise, were achieved by foreign tourists, which is 20% more than in April last year. There were also 16% or 997.2 thousand more arrivals. The Germans and Slovenes made up the most numbers, closely followed by Austrians and tourists from the UK, Poland, Italy, the USA, France and neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. The majority of tourists chose hotels for their accommodation in April, where they recorded 1.6 million nights.

The most overnight stays recorded in April were in Istria, Split-Dalmatia County and Kvarner. The top five also included Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Zadar County, with only the City of Zagreb coming closest in terms of overnight stays realised.
