May the 9th, 2025 – A very unusual offer from one particular Croatian luxury hotel promises a partial refund to guests if it rains. Such an approach has never been seen in this country.
If your shoes don’t fit or your TV decides to stop working within a certain period, you can return them and get your money back or a replacement. That approach has so far never been taken in Croatian tourism, however. It turns out that if it starts raining, you’ll have bagged yourself a bargain.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, not long ago, the luxurious boutique hotel The Isolano, which belongs to the Autograph Collection by Marriott line, opened on the Kvarner island of Cres. It’s the very first Marriott hotel on one of Croatia’s islands, as well as first Autograph Collection in Croatia that is adults only, meaning that only people over the age of 12 are allowed to stay there.
At the beginning of May, the hotel management announced a piece of news that spread like lightning among Croatian guests who see the pre-season as the ideal time for a trip to the seaside and the islands.
This Croatian luxury hotel promises a partial refund if it starts raining. The Isolano will run an active campaign throughout the month of May, in which it will refund 50% of the price of a night’s stay to all guests in the event that their holiday is dampened by rain.
The hotel’s general manager, Mario ivić, explained the details of this highly unusual campaign.
“We launched this campaign for several reasons. The first is that we’re a brand new hotel and we really want to be discovered not only by international guests but also by local guests, especially during the pre-season. Cres is located an hour and a half drive from Zagreb, and lately we’ve noticed quite a few guests coming up from Dalmatia discovering this magical island. The second reason is that we noticed media reports about the bad forecast for May, so we decided to respond to that with a charming and unprecedented campaign.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very confident that whoever comes will enjoy their time on this sunny island, so we decided to guarantee it – whatever the weather. The third and most important reason is that for the upcoming weekend, we’re organising a spectacular nine-course dinner with a Michelin signature. We see it as the perfect opportunity for a weekend trip to Cres and a chance to indulge a bit when it comes to our food offer and our other amenities,” said Ivić, adding that they have great ambitions for their hotel kitchen, which aspires to become one of the best in Croatia.
Manager Ivić emphasised that the promotion is valid for all reservations with a stay between May the 1st and May the 31st, 2025, with a minimum stay of two nights.
This Croatian luxury hotel promises that all guests will receive a 50% refund of an overnight stay, and up to two nights per stay can be reimbursed. Guests just have to inform the reception by 22:00 on the same day they consider to meet the conditions for a rainy day,” Ivić explained.
