August the 22nd, 2024 – Will we see record Croatian 2024 tourism revenue? The Croatian National Bank (CNB) believes we will, regardless of the sometimes confusing headlines.
The summer season so far has attracted some truly bipolar headlines. Some have claimed it will be a record season, while others have lamented about it having failed. It seems that the truth, like always, actually lies somewhere in the middle.
The Croatian National Bank has some rather encouraging ideas about what the Croatian 2024 tourist season revenue is going to look like, and it revealed more to Nova TV.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, according to the latest official projection from June this year, if we’re looking at the level of the entire year 2024, the income from tourism consumption by foreign tourists could increase by four percent. That’s equal to a massive 600 million euros, meaning the Croatian 2024 tourist season revenue would reach a staggering 15 billion and 200 million euros.
Experts at the Croatian National Bank don’t expect that changes in the number of overnight stays realised and the structure of guests will significantly affect this amount.
Gordi Sušić, director of the Directorate for Economic Analysis of the Croatian National Bank, stated the following: “When it comes to physical indicators, i.e. the number of overnight stays realised, we have no reason to doubt that we will deviate significantly during the next production of tourism projections, which will be published in September.”
