September the 20th, 2026 – Croatian military special forces have won 1st place at an international FPV drone pilots competition.
Members of the Croatian Special Forces Command of the Armed Forces recently won first place at the international military competition for FPV drone pilots in the TACTICAL category. Morski reports that this win means they have achieved an outstanding result in competition with international military teams.
The competition was held from the 13th to the 18th of September at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK. Called the international military competition for FPV drone pilots “British Army Tactical Drone Competition – BADCT and Military International Drone Racing Tournament – MIDRT”, the Croatian team certainly wowed. Croatia was represented at the competition by members of the Special Forces Command of the Croatian Armed Forces who, thanks to an exceptional level of training, professionalism and teamwork, won first place in the TACTICAL category. Second place was taken by Ukraine, while Germany came third.
an extremely demanding competition
The competition brought together more than 80 competitors, members of the armed forces from several countries, and during the multi-day programme the participants demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills in controlling FPV drones. In the first part of the competition, a contest in the tactical use of drones was held, which included an obstacle course, dropping a bomb with a drone and intercepting another aircraft in the air, in which the members of the Special Forces Command achieved an enviable result in an international military environment. The continuation of the competition included FPV drone races.
In addition to Croatia, Ukraine and Germany, representatives of Australia, Australian cadets, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, American veterans, New Zealand, Sweden and France also took part in the competition. This result represents significant recognition for the members of the Special Forces Command of the Croatian Armed Forces and confirms their knowledge, skills and ability to apply modern technology in a demanding international environment.
