July the 29th, 2023 – Croatian tourism trends up and down the country will now be followed and monitored using interactive maps. Numbers of arrivals, overnight stays and other indicators will now all be interactive.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the monitoring of statistical indicators of the intensity of Croatian tourism is now possible, in addition to the PCAxis database, through the GeoSTAT portal.
This is a novelty that the State Bureau of Statistics has made possible for its users. It was done by upgrading the aforementioned portal in such a way that all those interested will be able to spatially monitor Croatian tourism trends and intensity levels at the level of HR_NUTS 2021 – HR NUTS 2 and at the level of individual counties.
the number of tourists per 100 inhabitants and more
Users will now be able to monitor various Croatian tourism indicators such as the number of overnight stays realised by tourists per 100 inhabitants, the number of overnight stays realised by tourists per unit of area (km2), the number of permanent beds in commercial accommodation facilities per 100 inhabitants and much more.
Istria County was 2022’s champion
As such, with a new and very simple and visually attractive way of searching this data, users can get access to information such – Istria County was the leader in almost all of the aforementioned indicators of the intensity of Croatian tourism in 2022. Figures such as 14 thousand tourist overnight stays realised per 100 inhabitants, almost 10 thousand tourist overnight stays realised per square kilometre, with 153 permanent beds per 100 inhabitants and 106 permanent beds per square kilometre. All of the aforementioned data saw this county ranked firmly in first place.
Krapina-Zagorje County also did surprisingly well in 2022
A further search using these new interactive means also reveals that the county with the highest average number of tourist overnight stays realised per bed was Krapina-Zagorje with an average of 117 tourist overnight stays realised per bed. This was closely followed by Međimurje with 102, Istria with 93 and the City of Zagreb with 92 overnight stays realised per bed.
