March the 12th, 2024 – Croatian winemakers are present at the famous ProWein wine fair in the German city of Dusseldorf, showcasing what this country has to offer.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, organised by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), Croatian winemakers are jointly performing for the twelfth time at the world’s largest wine fair – ProWein 2024, which has been being held in Dusseldorf (from March the 10th to the 12th). About 5,400 winemakers from 65 countries are represented at the thirtieth edition of ProWein.

HGK has many years of experience in organising joint performances of local producers at international food and beverage fairs under its belt. One such event is ProWein Düsseldorf, the trade fair for wine and spirits.

“The joint appearance of Croatian winemakers at the ProWein fair enables the presentation of the peculiarities of the country’s climate, the wealth of native grape varieties and the different types of wine from our four wine regions. It also contributes to the positioning of Croatia on the demanding international wine scene,” stated Dragan Kovačević, vice president of HGK for agriculture and tourism.

At the national stand of 126 m2 this year, 21 Croatian wineries are exhibiting: Badel 1862, Kutjevo, Osilovac, PP Orahovica, Belje Plus, Iločki podrumi, Krauthaker, Dingač Skaramuča, Požega Impex, Vina Bedekovich, Lagradi, Galić, Testament Winery, Peninsula, Vina Delmati, Jako vino, Podrum Štrigova, Vinarija Štampar, OPG Dvanajščak, Mladina Plus and Royal Hill.

“We at HGK believe that if we want to brand Croatia as a wine country, which considering the economic importance of tourism for Croatia should be a development imperative, we must invest more strongly in the promotion of Croatian winemakers and wine abroad. This is especially the case when it comes to making fair appearances and running targeted campaigns. ProWein is the world’s largest trade fair, and that’s why it is important that Croatian winemakers promote themselves under the common brand of Vina Croatia Vina Mosaica, and present themselves with the best wines we have,” concluded Kovačević.

Participation in the fair offers talented and driven Croatian winemakers a unique opportunity to build international business contacts and promote Croatia’s many incredible premium wines.
