August the 8th, 2023 – A tragic situation has played out in Athens after a Greek AEK fan was stabbed by a Dinamo Zagreb fan. He ultimately succumbed to his wounds. The match has since been delayed.

As Index Sport writes, a Greek AEK FAN (29) died after a clash with Dinamo Zagreb’s Bad Blue Boys (BBB) in Athens, Greek police have now confirmed. According to the latest information, six people ended up requiring some sort of medical treatment in hospital, and 96 people were arrested, of which 82 were Croatian nationals.

It’s worth briefly explaining that despite the ban on the presence of away fans at the matches of the third preliminary round of the Champions League between the current Croatian champion Dinamo Zagreb and the Greek AEK, some of the fans of the Zagreb club still travelled to Athens, where the first match was supposed to be played this evening at 20:45.

The Greek police requested a postponement of the match, and UEFA has since approved it. The match has now officially been postponed. A new time for the delayed match is expected to be announced soon.
