May the 26th, 2024 – The new Dubrovnik-Budva ferry is set to travel twice per day, connecting the Pearl of the Adriatic with that popular Montenegrin coastal town. A look at the ticket prices.

Historically speaking, relations between neighbouring nations Montenegro and Croatia have been tense. That’s particularly the case between Dubrovnik and Montenegro, as the Montenegrins behaved appallingly in Croatia’s southernmost city back during the Homeland War. It seems however that it is time to move on and reconnect the two countries, at least in the maritime sense.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, a vessel owned and operated by the “Kompas” shipping company will connect the Montenegrin holiday resort of Budva and the City of Dubrovnik this summer. It will start operating on June the 29th with two trips a day.

The aforementioned was revealed at at press conference on the topic by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Radulović.

The executive director of the company “Kompas” Bojan Aljinović explained that they have a lot of experience in shipping transport, and that in this way, the transport of passengers between Croatia and Montenegro will be facilitated. He added that they are working on the operational part of the project and that they are enthusiastic, at least according to Montenegrin media outlets.

Aljinović stated that according to rough calculations, tickets for the new Dubrovnik-Budva ferry will cost 55 euros in one direction, while a return day ticket will most likely cost 69 euros.

He stated that as things stand currently, the new Dubrovnik-Budva ferry will connected the two coastal cities until the end of September. He added that passengers will be carried by a large vessel with a capacity of 242 passengers.
