Rijeka is shaken by an earthquake this morning.
As Index reports on the 8th of August, 2017, Rijeka was made to tremble this morning at about 11:40 as an earthquake measuring approximately 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the Kvarner area.
According to EMSC data, the epicenter was around 18 kilometers from Rijeka, 5 kilometers from Hreljina, at a depth of one kilometer. The Seismological Service later reported a moderate earthquake with its epicenter at Jadranovo at 11:35. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.4 on the Richter scale, with the surrounding areas feeling the effects of the rumble.
Index has asked readers to let them know if they felt the earthquake and where they were when they felt it. Some responses have started coming in to the portal from various locations within the area, with one reader stating that the earthquake was felt very much throughout the whole of Krka, that it sounded as loud as thunder, with one reader who lives in Jadranovo claiming that his entire house shook and the initial quake was followed by numerous aftershocks.
