April the 16th, 2026 – The beautiful Keight Hotel Opatija hosted journalists and guests on its beautiful Rooftop terrace on the occasion of an exceptional recognition – winning the Connie Award, Hilton’s most prestigious award.
The event was attended by numerous guests, including the Deputy Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Toni Štimac, the Mayor of Opatija Fernando Kirigin, the Director of the Opatija Tourist Board Suzi Petričić, the Director of the Rijeka Tourist Board Petar Škarpa and the Director of the Matulji Municipality Tourist Board Marijana Kalčić.

At the very end of the press conference, the audience was addressed by the artistic duo Đurđa and Franko, the popular theatre and comedy couple from the hit plays Casabianca and 4 Funerals and a Wedding, created and performed by Irena Grdinić and Mario Lipovšek Battifiaca. As a recognisable, humorous married couple who cannot stand each other but also cannot live without each other, they made the audience laugh through a series of everyday situations and jokes. In their own style – with a touch of irony and sharp humour – they also announced a new play, the premiere of which is scheduled for May the 29th on the rooftop terrace of the Keight Hotel.
The spring-summer season within the Keight complex will also bring about new creations in the Pierrot restaurant under the leadership of chef Miroslav Janjić, along with special offers on the occasion of the biggest event in town – Retro Opatija. The programme is further enriched by a wine & dine quiz, pilates on the rooftop, food & wine evenings and a series of carefully designed surprises. Weekends are still reserved for favourite rituals – Saturday brunch and Sunday lunches for family and friends.
