Pop-up kitchen has a TV that’s built into the door.
The influential British lifestyle, architecture and design magazine ICON has published in its June 2016 issue a piece which focuses on a selection of 31 ideas, including a made-in-Croatia kitchen. What’s more, this pop-up PIA kitchen, designed by Darko Špiljarić, director of the Dizz Concept company and the head of the Inkea company, has also been chosen as the ICON’s product of the month. In the meantime, the pop-up PIA has been included into the group of 24 products selected by the OnOffice magazine, another British publication which covers architecture and design-at-work topics, reports Poslovni.hr on June 17, 2016.
Both publications have emphasized special features of the PIA kitchen and pointed out the approach that is saving space by increasing usability. They also mentioned the simple and quick installation of the kitchen components. In addition, the magazines introduced PIA as an ideal solution for many small flats, but also as a great idea for spaces intended for tourists, for offices and retirement homes or student campuses.
All the features that are usually parts of classic kitchens and that are traditionally installed on about 3.6 square metres on average have now been packed into the 1.5 square metres. In addition to these advantages and the usual household appliances, PIA kitchen has another addition – a TV that has been built into the door, and only two moves are necessary to turn this door into a closet.
The kitchen was presented to the public for the first time at the fair Ambienta 2014 that was held in Zagreb. And exactly because of its uniqueness, pop-up PIA has won many prestigious international awards. Among them are the Interior Innovation Award – Best of the Best in 2015 and the Green Product Award Selection 2016, probably the most important in the series of recognitions.
