In just five days, the computer game sold 650,000 copies.
The demand for the fastest-selling product in the history of Croatia, the SCUM computer game, is not subsiding, reports Poslovni.hr. on September 9, 2018.
Five days after the start of sales, SCUM is no longer the best-selling game in the world. Now it is in the second position, according to data from Steam, the largest computer game store in the world.
In the meantime, Gamepires, the software development studio from Zagreb which has developed this ultra-realistic 3D survival game, announced that in the first five days it sold 650,000 copies of the game.
This is close to the numbers usually reached by the global industry leaders, which typically sell a million copies in the first week of the launch of new games.
On the first day, SCUM was bought in as many as 250,000 copies. In addition, it had a waiting list with 350,000 potential players. Both figures are impressive at the global level. According to the first day sales, SCUM achieved a result which is two-and-a-half times better than the ultra-popular Minecraft game for the Xbox Live platform (100,000 copies). With this result, SCUM has also beaten the launch of the global best-seller “50 Shades of Grey”, which needed a week to sell 100,000 copies.
According to SteamSpy data, SCUM is the third best-selling game on Steam among games whose sale began in August. This is interesting since SCUM became available just three days before the end of the month. In August, SCUM was at the third position, behind Monster Hunter: World with 2 to 5 million copies sold, and Dead Cells with 1 to 2 million. According to this source, SCUM had half to one million copies sold in August.
