With its new AR mobile app “Krka National Park Tour”, the public institution “Krka National Park” goes a step forward in the application of new technologies for its visitors, bringing them closer to the Park through augmented reality. The mobile augmented reality application in AR technology will facilitate the arrival, orientation, and movement of visitors in the area of Skradinski Buk and will give them more information about the facilities in the park.

The new application “Krka National Park Tour” is based on the AR (Augmented Reality) concept, reports HRTurizam. The concept of augmented reality is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data – displaying such devices of reality we see in expanded form.

The free AR mobile application is available in twelve languages so visitors can find out exactly where they are in the space and where the “points of interest” (POI) are: entrances and exits, reception, bus stops, excursion boats, restaurants, souvenir shops, ethnological presentations and more.

The application is very simple, here is how it works:

When you start your AR application “Krka National Park Tour”, the screen will display the radar with marked points of interest in the vicinity of the park, which will be shown only in the direction in which they are located, but also their distance, or exact location in space.

By clicking on this item you will get more information about them (text, photo, video), and turning on the smart mobile devices in the area will give you other significant points of interest on your screen that are located in that direction – if you do not walk in that direction, the data will change in real time.

“With this knowledge, visitors will be able to better plan their time spent at the Park and it will help them manage and move around the Park because the application knows how much time should be left for individual locations or to exit. This way you can enjoy the maximum benefits of the natural, cultural and historical sights at the park,” states Krka National Park, which is, as a promotional and educational Park, the most active national park in Croatia.

The application is available for download via the Apple and Google app store:
