A factory from Lipik will also start producing windows for London taxis.
While many Croatian companies are hanging by a thread, Lipik Glas factory has recorded the production growth and revenues for the third year in a row. But, it would not have been able to survive on the demanding global market if it weren’t for its Italian owner Isoclima, which keeps investing into the factory’s modernisation and has secured it a place in the foreign markets, reports Index.hr on June 11, 2016.
“Through Isoclima, which has been making special high-quality glass for over 40 years, we have had the first contacts with customers. The knowhow and technology have been moved from Italy, and today we produce tempered and laminated glass for all globally renowned vehicles. The customers who buy glass made in Lipik Glas are Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Rolls Royce”, said Danijel Zadjelović, who has been heading the factory for more than 15 years. “We have also produced glass for the Aston Martin which James Bond drove in the latest Bond movie”, Zadjelović added.
Almost 80 percent of their sales are related to car industry, while 15 percent involves the railroad industry. Bombardier Transportation and Končar are buying side windows for trains from Lipik Glas. “Our main markets are United Kingdom, Italy, Austria and Germany where sales continue to increase. In 2015, we achieved 11 million euros of revenues, and this year we plan to reach 12 million euros. This is the third year of production and income growth, and that enables us to continue investing in the production. During 2014 and 2015, new equipment was purchased for the production purposes. It cost us about 3 million euros, and this year we started with the necessary construction works on our facilities in order to put all this equipment into operation by the end of the year”, said Zadjelović.
They have also announced the increase of sales in France, and the next year the factory will start manufacturing the entire sets of windows for new London taxis. These will be large quantities, about 4,000 to 7,000 units per year.
